I have a 2-1/2 year old lab puppy that still wants to play with every child or dog we meet on our walks. The problem is, she’s 80 pounds of loving hulk! If she’s not scaring those that she wants to greet, she’s tearing my arms out of the socket to get to them.I’ve tried shock collars, harnesses and muzzle collars thinking something would break her of her puppy antics without breaking her spirit but nothing has worked 100% of the time.Today, I put this pinch collar on her during our walk in the local park, knowing we’d see her usual distractions and hoping I could control her. Fact is, it worked! I was able to keep moderate tension on her leash when she wanted to charge a new found friend and she behaved. No yelling, no planting my feet to try and hold her back and no apologies when I couldn’t control her.Perfect day, perfect walk, perfect behavior and I didn’t even remove the point guards on the pinch collar.Pros:1) This type of collar is not always looked on with fondness by the public. This collar comes with a covering over the metal links so it’s not obvious to casual observers that you’re using a pinch collar.2) The metal links come with plastic tip covers so you don’t have to dig raw metal into your pets neck if you don’t need to.I left the plastic covers on during my walk and my lab behaved very well.3) You Can remove links to adjust for size. Mine came with 2 extra links with tip covers.4) They’re easy to put on. No need to slip them over the head. They have a sturdy clasp that you seal together under their neck, leaving the leash loops on top of the neck.5) The leash loops can be doubled up or connected to one loop to function as a “choke chain”.6) Great deal for the money. I’ve spent a ton of money on training collars and training but, in 10 minutes, this collar solved my biggest training shortfall.She knows when she’s wearing it and her behavior reflects that. If it’s in, she’s the model dog. If I leave it off, she’s your average, out of control puppy. ?
