The flavored sugar that you can buy for this is great. But you can use just about any hard candy that you can crush. And you don’t have to crush it to sugar, it will work with cinnamon imperials as is. We had to crush lemon drops, but they work great.Gave this to my kid as a Christmas gift and we used crushed candy canes, which worked very well. Peppermint candy floss is interesting. but my favorite are the lemon drops and cinnamon imperials.The cleaning is a little work – pull the rotating bit straight up with both hands once it’s cool to touch and soak it in water. The hardest part to clean is made of metal so you get pretty rough with it without harming it.Very easy to use: Put a little sugar/candy in the middle and turn it on. Then use the provided cones to gather the flying strands of candy floss. With a lot of home-use treat makers, the product is less refined than the carnival/store-bought treat, but not this. The cotton candy this makes is as refined (and better tasting) than the stuff you get at the fair or the store.Worth every penny.
