The media could not be loaded. When I saw this SprayBlender become available, I liked the idea of using plants to blend and create sprays for various uses. What convinced me to order this product was that a reviewer said this kit came with a recipe book, when actually, there’s just a list with general information about plant material and low viscosity liquids that can be used.Despite this, I looked forward to making a pine-scented air freshener. However, I was not sure how much pine to use. It took about an hour and a half to charge the unit. I went outside to prune some pine but looked for thin stems that I even cut off before blending. I added water to the fill line and made sure the blades could spin, at first, without touching the water and pine needles. Once the blades reached full speed, I flipped the blender over until it completed its cycle.Unfortunately, the pine scent was pretty much nonexistent. Determined to make a nice air freshener, I clipped four more pine stems and thought that doubling the quantity would create a more potent spray. That was not the case; there was barely any pine scent the second time I blended. Perhaps, fresh pine needles are not conducive to plant sprays, or maybe I needed to use a whole lot more pine? Without an exact recipe available to me, I was afraid I’d damage the blender by using too much plant material. I cleaned the blender base of pine needles with the accompanying brush and just used a towel to wipe up liquid. I let it air dry before packing it up.I do want to try a cooking spray sometime, but I’m disappointed I cannot use any oil. I can only use water, juices, or vinegars, and perhaps soy, teriyaki, and Worcester sauces. I also want to blend an insect repellant to spray on my dog that always suffers from the terrible bites of Black flies and Deer flies in the spring. We also grow various herbs and vegetables on our deck and want to make a spray to deter aphids, which other reviewers have said works well. Again, I wish I could use some essential oils, but apparently oils can clog and somehow damage the plastic parts. I do support a small, US-based company, but they have their product made in China, as most do.The current price offered on Amazon has dropped to $89.00, but I think it is still a bit pricey. I think this product is worthy of a 4-star review, but there is definitely a learning curve regarding how much plant material to use.
